The goal for this project was to light the same scene with both daytime lighting and nighttime lighting. The daytime lighting and nighttime lighting are part of the same project. The story about this project is a cat who is grieving the loss of a companion cat. The location is in an attic, a warm and isolated space where cats can sunbathe and nap. I used props in a way to make the attic look like a place two cats could spend time together. After the passing of the companion, the other cat still visits the attic. There are two beds to show that there should be two cats. On the empty bed is a collar to represent the missing prescence of another cat. In the nighttime piece, the lighting is shaped in a way to focus on the two cats meeting again. The companion cat is bright and glowy, so the other cat has bright lighting to match. The lighting tells that the time of day is early evening. There are subtle moonrays for a soft and dreamy feeling. The warm lighting coming from behind the open attic door contrasts the cool night lighting.
